Blood Bank

The blood bank of the institute is also well equipped with blood testing facilities, latest gadgetry and a cold room for good storage capacity to match the requirements of a tertiary level referral hospital. Besides providing safe and tested whole blood for transfusion to patients, the following components are also made available with the help of a Cell Separator:

The main source of input for the blood bank is from voluntary blood donation camps organized by various agencies and NGOs including the Red Cross Society. The Blood Bank of the Institute is also engaged in training of Medical Officers and Lab Technicians in ‘Safe Blood Transfusion’ methods and techniques.
